COP30

It is time to nominate yourself for a badge to COP30 in Belém Brazil for the two-week UNFCCC meeting November 10-21, 2025, with the American Anthropological Association (AAA).

The AAA does not guarantee badges, and we currently have no funding to support attendance. We typically receive 1-2 badges, so we are able to send 1-2 people per week. Please fill out the google form if you are interested in attending and having access to the blue zone. Occasionally we are able to connect AAA members with our partners to get them a badge through those institutions also.

We will also have virtual badges, to follow online, you will need to be registered in the UNFCCC system for that as well, so please apply here if you would like to attend virtually.

This link should work, below. It will also be posted on the AAA community site, Eanth listserv, and on our Climate Change Interest Group website, https://ccig.americananthro.org/

Please complete this with all requested details by August 15. Late submissions cannot be made to the UNFCCC system.

We have a group of volunteers reading these applications and doing our best to select representatives in the most equitable, inclusive, and transparent way, and we greatly apologize we are not able to send everyone. We strongly encourage you to connect with other organizations you are affiliated with who have accreditation to be considered for one of their badges. COP 30 is going to be much smaller than the previous few meetings, so fewer Observers will receive badges.

Two links below, both should work, fingers crossed!

email emily.hite at slu.edu with any issues and I will fix them asap.
