AAA CCIG 2024 Student Prize

Each year we aim to support students who are presenting their climate change-related research at the AAA meeting. The CCIG will select two candidates and provide $250 towards their AAA expenses. Students may be presenting online or in person, award is to provide support for AAA registration, membership, and/or attendance fees.

Eligibility:

Must currently be students, Masters or Doctorate, in any region

Must be a current member of the AAA

Must be presenting at the 2024 AAA meeting (online or in person)

Fill out questions below, following word count limits

DUE OCTOBER 20, 2024

Decisions made by Nov 1, blind peer review by CCIG members

Payment submitted direct to student from the AAA 

The following list provides guidance for selecting winners. Merit is based on the following:

  1. Advancement in understanding the human dimensions of climate change
    • Significance of research in addressing pressing climate issues.
    • Contribution to current knowledge and practices.
  2. Innovation in Methodology or Theory
    • Novelty of ideas or approaches or Ability to challenge existing paradigms or introduce new perspectives.
    • Appropriateness and rigor of the research design and Clarity and justification of methods used.
    • Integration of empirical findings with broader theoretical frameworks.
    • Impact on existing theories or development of new theoretical insights.
  3. Practical Implications
    • Relevance of research to policy, practice, or community action.
    • Potential for real-world application and influence on climate change initiatives.
